Interview with Hugh Murray, 1996
Installation with 17 minute audio piece, portable radio

An interview with Hugh Murray exploring Murray O’Laoire’s hi-tech visitors' center to Limerick's 700 year-old Norman castle. The building had been controversial within the city because of its juxtaposition with the heritage site of the castle. The interview offered one of the building’s architects the opportunity to explain his design decisions. Steel and aluminum were chosen as lightweight materials in order to span over and incorporate the archaeology underneath the building into the Visitor’s Center.

The piece featured music from 'Surfing on Sine Waves' by Polygon Window (1993) and the radio that replayed the audio was placed on the counter of a 'trace your Irish roots' genealogy display located on the first floor of the Visitors' Center.
