An original poster featuring a photograph of night time traffic on the outskirts of a city, superimposed with the legend 'Open 24 Hours', was folded and distressed over a period of time before being re-photographed using an 8x10" camera.

The resulting print, 1:1 scale with the poster, includes in great detail its stains, discoloration, and grid of frayed fold lines.

'Prototype II' is one of a number of works that use Open 24 Hours as a metaphor to explore the contradictions and discontinuities of spatial and temporal extension as it applies in a modern urban context.
